50 Shades of Grace : #mySelah
My Heart's desire is as you read this week's Selah is that your heart be filled with the love of Christ. I Pray that you feel His warm embrace as you draw closer to the realisation that there is no sin big enough that cant be forgiven by grace and no height, depth nor width can separate you from the love of God through Christ Jesus.
Romans 5.
Excuse me if it might sound very obvious to you, in my opinion this obvious fact is not obvious enough. With the growing population of our generation constantly feeling unworthy of the love that Christ offers, surely it cant be that obvious. Romans chapter 5 is absolutely beautiful, it talks about being justified (made right, defended in the sight of God) by the Blood of Jesus (verse 9). The chapter is a must read, it briefly summarises what I could not even try to explain in a million words (don't worry I wont try).
Love is what Christianity is all about in my opinion and grace makes us worthy of that love. What's even more amazing is that same Individual who shows us His love, is the same One that makes grace abound so immensely that we have no excuse to exclude our self from His untamed love (I really hope that made enough sense). Jesus Christ did what no other could do on our behalf, He did what only He could do being so holy, pure and perfect.
"20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord." -KJV, Romans 5
Another Translation:
"20-21 All that passing laws against sin did was produce more lawbreakers. But sin didn’t, and doesn’t, have a chance in competition with the aggressive forgiveness we call grace. When it’s sin versus grace, grace wins hands down. All sin can do is threaten us with death, and that’s the end of it. Grace, because God is putting everything together again through the Messiah, invites us into life—a life that goes on and on and on, world without end" -MSG, Romans 5
We qualify for the immeasurable love of Christ not because of who we are, were or will become but because of His Grace. His Grace ensures no one is left out of His Love, like the above translation states, His grace wins over sin every time. Grace is like the invitation card, love is the party and Christ is the host, only unique thing is that the invitation card invites all of humanity. His grace can speak louder than all of your many sins.
PRAYER STARTER : Father, help me to realise and deeply understand your great love for me. Fill my mind with the thought of your great love and help me to accept your invitation Daily even when sin threatens.
Thank you for reading ! please do leave a comment below on your insight of Romans 5 !!! ps. Happy new year *face palm*

"Grace is the very opposite of merit...Grace is not only undeserved favor, but it is favor shown to the one who has deserved the very opposite"- Harry Ironside

That is wonderful. The verse that got my attention is 8 it says "but God commendeth his love towards us, in that while we are yet sinners, christ died for us. I thought about how faithful God is for him to be able to love everybody no matter how great their sin is. He is a true compassionate God
