Because Somehow you are Worth It

I've always been conflicted by this very thought in my faith.
The new testament depicts a God who saw the inadequacy of man yet still found him adequate enough to send his son to lay his own life for man's sake

Imagine this..

You created a people according to your image, delight in their praises
Ask them to abstain from the things that drift them away from you (SIN)
They struggle and fail over and over again
You send your son
He becomes the epitome of what you have asked from your people
righteous, holy, loving and much more
It satisfies you yet you have decided to exchange his righteousness for the people's sin
Your Son decides also that he would sacrifice himself at their expense because somehow they are worth it

Its mind boggling
Too good to be true right?
Completely irrational if you asked me (but hey you're reading this blog for my thoughts right?)

...But we know God to be rational so He rationally corrected your failures with the sacrifice of His son. He knew what He was doing and it didn't stop Him.

Man is the epitome of inadequate and highly flawed
We carried the weight of shame, guilt and aggression... SINCE THE BEGINNING!!

Our very being denied us of the ultimate gift of God's loving presence

I marvel at Jesus and His struggle up to the mountain to be crucified
He fell three times...carrying the cross up the hill

If the Cross symbolises our Sins then perhaps we could conclude that even Jesus struggled with that weight.  How much more you ??

I like to pretend that Jesus stumbled and fell to portray man under the burden of his sinful nature
Perhaps he purposefully stumbled to prove the inadequacy of man to carry a burden and yet still walk towards the finish line

Likewise he also got up each time to teach us to continue to pursue, walk and crawl - whatever it would take to get there.

Even Jesus found it difficult to walk on the path that was deserving of man
Yet He remained determined to set an example ....not a perfect one but an acceptable one

We are man, flawed and reckless
Let us be reminded each day that our story was transformed on the Cross
No longer a slave
No longer a failure
Because Somehow the Creator saw YOU and said you were worth it

"So never give up, when you fall (PLEASE) get back up and pursue with grace that has been made abundant " - Selah 2018
