Lessons learnt in 2014
Hello Reader,
We've Officially completed 365/365 days of the year 2014, seems like only yesterday when we said goodbye to 2013. A lot has happened this year, some of you may have lost friends, families and jobs while others gained a few. We've had ups and downs, moments of overwhelming Joy and moments we could only describe as miracles. We've struggled in one way or the other (the struggle was real at times), but the one thing we all have in common is that we have completed another year, and in spite of our various challenges we've made it through and you're still standing. Take a moment to appreciate that fact. With the new year around the corner its time to start afresh, hence this Blog post highlights my;
21 lessons to carry on to the New year
-Practice patience. Every one who ever received a miracle in the Bible had to be patient. When their time came they knew it and acted on it. Wait for your time.
-Relationships; I'm not just talking male/female companions with a *winky face*. If your relationship does not bring you any closer to God, you may need to re-evaluate make some changes.
-Guard your heart ; The bible says (Proverbs 4 v23) out of your heart flows issues of life while another version says it determines the course of your life. There's a saying that when your heart is on fire you get smoke in your eyes.
-Mind your tongue; have you heard that small minds discuss people while great minds discuss issues (and find solutions to problems). Don't waste your time spreading negativity with the words you proclaim.
-You Need to spend time growing in God, loving you and getting to know your self (flaws and all)
-Jesus is our everything! sometimes we put a lot of responsibilities on others, and then act surprised when they let us down. The only person who never fails is Jesus.
-Create time out For God, no matter how busy you are.
-Not all that glitters is gold, examine your options and consider the possible consequences of your actions
-Stop procrastinating, it is a trick of the devil. Do it Now, don't let deadlines catch up with you. Start that Blog, YouTube channel, apply for that job etc. Don't let you success pass you by.
-Work out your own salvation, forget about the critics and being a critic. Focus on building a strong relationship with God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Focus on depending on Him and Him alone, Obey His commands and seek His face at all times.
-Don't be selfish, in life sometimes it pays to give more than receive (except in relationships *winky face*, y'all need to give equally). Give more of your time, energy and talents to those around you. you'll find it more fulfilling and rewarding
-Don't waste time dwelling on the past, only a fool trips over what is behind him. Move forward and improve your situation.
-Read more; I personally enjoy reading but this year I slacked a lot. By reading you gain new insights and knowledge. Knowledge is power, especially when it comes to the word of God.
-Be a better you. Think about it this way, would you want to spend the rest of your life with someone like you? if not then why? How can you improve on these attributes. If you're not considering marriage, at least be a better person for YOU !
-Treat yourself; I do this a lot with food ( no shame!!).
-Try/Learn something new, outside your comfort zone eg. paintballing, cycling, baking, knitting etc.
-Stand Out (positively). Its boring trying to blend into the crowd not to mention exhausting.
-Set a solid goal, stick to it and make it happen. Any thing is possible with a partner like God, the sky is not even a limit.
-Impact and Inspire others. Don't forget you are being watched (not in a creepy way) by someone out there, whether you choose to leave a lasting positive impression is up to you.
-Lastly, Enjoy It ; Every moment, blessing and lesson .May the year 2015 be filled with love, joy, peace and all you've ever hoped for.
New Year's Day. A fresh start. A new chapter in life waiting to be written. New questions to be asked, embraced, and loved. Answers to be discovered and then lived in this transformative year of delight and self-discovery. Today carve out a quiet interlude for yourself in which to dream, pen in hand. Only dreams give birth to change.
