Day 7: Pressure is for Tyres

Hey Reader
(My apologies for being later than planned)

It's Day 7

Today's Verse is

5 When hard pressed, I cried to the LORD; he brought me into a spacious place. -P
salm 118v 5

As I ran around my ward (Intern General Nurse) looking like a headless chicken, A Lady stopped me and said sternly "Nikki, pressure is for tyres".

Right then and there (It took me a few minutes to be honest) I came to the realisation of what she meant. I wasn't a Tyre so I shouldn't be under pressure right ???

I took a deep breath (when I eventually understood the quote) and carried on, only this time, I didn't carry the burden of pressure along with me. I decided to twist the meaning of this quote.

Without pressure a tyre wouldn't be able to function, carry the weight of a car and sustain speed. Too much pressure though and you'd end up with an unsafe tyre.

Now Humans .....

As James rightfully says, (Chapter 1 v 3-13 MSG) Pressure helps us mature as christians, just like the analogy of a rock under pressure, that changes into a precious diamond.

However its easy to feel bombarded and overburdened with pressures. Some examples include deteriorating health, feeling stagnant, an increased workload.
Hence why James (Chapter 1 v 3-13 MSG) says  if you get a little weary and you don't know what you're doing, pray to the Father and ask for help.

Pressure should bring you closer to God not away from Him. Like the psalmist says in Today's Verse, cry unto God and He'll ease you off the pressure. You might not necessarily be eased of the pressure, but you'll certainly feel like you've got the strength to carry on.

With Love
Selah x
